Yesterday, I took Carter in for a weight check with Dr. Heath's nurse and our little man is now 10 lbs. 13 oz, up from 8 lbs. 2.5 oz at birth. On Thursday of this week we will celebrate 7 weeks with him. To celebrate his 6 weeks on the Earth and mom and dad surviving, Adam took us out to Applebee's, where he slept through the entire meal- dessert and all! It was the first time that we have gotten to have an entire meal without him waking up.
After his weight check, I had my 6 week postpartum visit with my OB/GYN, Dr. Laraway. Everything went great and I have completed all my visits related to my pregnancy. Of course Carter felt the need to clear his lungs out during my appointment and screamed through the entire exam. I wish I had my camera, because Dr. Laraway grabbed him out of the carseat and tried to settle him down until I could get myself back together- it was such a great photo opp. and would've been a great picture for his scrapbook... so we may have to take a trip back next week.
Mark your calendar, because next Wednesday, January 27, we're taking Carter to visit his new urologist, Dr. Munding to see about a second opinion regarding his kidney issue and try and come up with a game plan for treatment- if any is warrented. Carter's pediatrician diagnosed him with a condition called Polycystic Kidney Disease or PKD, but based on literature, mom is second guessing.... so we will keep you all posted after the visit.
So that's about all the is new with us for now- everything seems to be status quo. Hope everything is going well with everyone!
