Good Time at the Doctor's

This afternoon, Carter had his first appointment with his new urologist,
Dr. Munding. According to him, Carter has a condition called multicystic dysplastic kidney syndrome- which basically means that he has cysts in his left kidney. This diagnosis is much better than what we were intially told of PKD. The outlook on his new diagnosis is much brigher with no where near the problems that will or could happen in the future. We will continue to follow-up with the urologist every 3-4 months as well as have an ultrasound done at the same time interval to monitor the growth of the affected kidney as well as the size of the unaffected one. Mom and dad are both happy about the new diagnosis! Since Dr. Munding doesn't handle a great deal with infants, therefore, he has suggested that we visit with the pediatric urology specialist that comes over from Seattle's childrens hospital to continue to monitor and keep abreast of the latest on his condition.
It was a great day with great news, thank you to everyone who was thinking of us!
